recently, John gave a presentation at a three-day aggression symposium
for trainers, vets and behaviourists at the University of Guelph)

· Past chair of a trainers' proficiency team, comprised of trainers,
veterinarians and behaviourists, formed to assess the possibility of

· Among the first trainers in Ontario to train and promote the
sport of flyball; trained the only all-Doberman team to win the Purina
Flyball Gold Cup Championship
After almost thirty years
of training dogs in Canada and the U.K., John has CKC obedience titles
at all levels, top-scoring Dog World awards, a championship flyball
team and numerous tracking titles to his credit. Trainem students and
instructors have won first place and High In Trial at many CKC trials
and Specialty trials. Although retired from Schutzhund, John remains
involved in other areas of competitive training, including flyball and
agility; he requires all his instructors to have trained a CKC Obedience
Trial Champion.
His main focus, however, is the family dog. His goal is to help dogs
and owners understand each other through proper training, in the hopes
that fewer dogs will end up in animal shelters, abandoned or injured
in accidents.
