Methodology Our methods are all positive and easy to understand; we start all dogs on clicker training, which is a fair, clear and fun way to help the dog understand what it is you want, and then switch to traditional command-based obedience. We use no harsh techniques and avoid choke chains. Click here to view the descriptions of the classes we offer. Our dog-to-instructor ratio is approximately 3 to 1, with John teaching all the classes personally, and dogs grouped according to age, size and temperament. We usually have between 7 and 10 dogs in a class. The classes are held indoors on safety mats. Our program depends on consistency in the home, and we give you all the skills required to accomplish that goal. All owners must show proof of their dog's vaccinations upon registering for class. Puppies can start as soon as they have had their second shots; usually this is at about 12 weeks. Pre-registration We assess all dogs individually in pre-registration appointments, when we meet you and the dog, have you fill out the forms, and give you a couple of things to start working on at home -- this appointment takes about 20 minutes and can be set up by phoning us at (905) 634-5999. If your puppy will have his or her vaccinations before the course begins, but not in time to register, registration can be done without the puppy present. If you and your family would like to watch a class before deciding to register, you're more than welcome -- just phone us and tell us when you'd like to come so that we know to let you in with the students.
